• INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR

    We have closed the application window for
    new International Exchange Students for the 2021-22 school year. 

    Please review our policies below for reviewing and accepting students
    for the 2022-23 school year.

International Exchange Students

  • flags of the world Steilacoom Historical School District believes that International Student Exchange can be an enriching experience for students, families, and school communities. Such experiences provide international exchange students with a balanced understanding of our country, and also provides U.S. students with a broad world perspective.

    The Steilacoom School District limits the total number of international exchange students to six (6) students per school annually. Additionally, each sponsoring organization may place no more than two (2) students in each school annually. The District will only accept students from international exchange organizations registered with the Office of the Secretary of State of Washington State.


    INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE REQUEST

    An international exchange organization wishing to enroll an international exchange student in the District must submit a request, including BOTH of the following:

    1. a complete program description, including the name, address, and telephone number of the local representative, and
    2. the District's International Exchange Student & Host Family Application online form
      (NOTE: this program is closed at Steilacoom Historical SD for 2021-22 school year).

    IMPORTANT DATES

    The District must receive the application and program description by May 15th for students planning to begin school in the first semester the following Fall, or by October 1st for students planning to begin school in the second semester.  The District will provide notification of approval or denial in writing to the program representative in a timely manner, but no later than June 15th for the first semester and November 1st for the second semester.
