Paraeducator Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)
The Washington State Legislature enacted a new law that will require all paraeducators to earn a general certificate within the next three school years. The first step in this process toward paraeducator certification is to complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS), which requires 28 hours of training before completing the other required hours toward the full certificate. Our district's priority is to support our paraeducators through this new requirement through providing information and opportunities for earning the required training hours. Learn more about the offerings available through our Teaching and Learning Department.
Have you completed your 28 hours?
Congratulations! Download and complete the OSPI Continuing Education Credit Hours FCS Form, sign and submit to your Human Resources Department. Our team will finalize the form and file a copy in your personnel file. A copy of the completed form will be sent to you.
