Welcome to my website, Pioneer families!

PLEASE NOTE that during the school closure, I will be posting weekly instructional tasks for our students.  Please see the "Instructional Tasks" link to the left for the latest updates on what activities are available, and how students can access them (most often, they will do so through Google Classroom).  During this time of temporary closure, I encourage you to take advantage of all learning opportunities.

Please view this recommended schedule that your student can follow while working at home.

It is my absolute pleasure to be your student's 7th Grade Social Studies and Washington State History Teacher.

I've posted a bit more about my background under the "Meet the Teacher" banner.

Communication is key.  Between this site and the Google Classroom site, it is my intent that your child and you should know exactly what we are doing in class on any particular day, and what the next few days will look like.  Depending on any number of circumstances, the class may speed up or slow down.  I'll keep this site updated to communicate any significant changes.  Assignments and their rubrics / expectations will reside primarily on Google Classroom.  Your students can show you that location.  General expectations for this spring 2020 semester (Washington State History) are available within the "Class Handouts" section of this website.

Please also check your child's Skyward account.  There, you may check grades and brief descriptions of the graded event.  It is also a great place to identify missing assignments or any notes I have made after posting a graded event.

If you would ever like to contact me, please call 253 583 7246 or email trylander@steilacoom.k12.wa.us; I'll respond as quickly as able.  The best times to contact me are perhaps during my planning period (Period 3, between 10:13am and 11:08am) or immediately after the school day ends.

Thank you for the privilege of teaching your child.
