I have been teaching since 1989. I have taught Preschool Special Education and Kindergarten the majority of my career. I have taught in five different states (California, Virginia, Louisiana, Kansas and Washington) and the International School of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. I have been teaching in the Steilacoom Historical School District since 2001. I love the enthusiasm of young children and their excitement for learning. It gives me such pleasure to watch them find success and develop pride for the accomplishments that they have achieved.
I have a Master's in Teaching degree from Baker University in Kansas, and my Bachelor's of Science in Education from Northern University in South Dakota with Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am also certified in Special Education for Birth-5 years of age.
I love to watch youth sports and you can often find me at the local baseball diamonds and football fields cheering on the young athletes. I also enjoy hiking with my family, reading books, and enjoying the beautiful nature here in the Pacific Northwest.
