PIONEER SPORTS SCHEDULES 2020-2021
Hello Pioneer Parents and Guardians:I would like to inform you that Pioneer Middle School will be opening registration for Baseball, Fastpitch & Volleyball on Wednesday, April 28th, 2021. 6th, 7th & 8th grades welcome to join. You may register for sports through this link: TouchBase
Season 4 for Middle School (Baseball, Fastpitch and Volleyball) will start on Monday, May 17th and end on Thursday, June 10th. This is a 4 week season.
These activities will strictly follow DOH and WIAA protocols and guidelines. These protocols include the requirement that we limit our squad sizes to 6 athletes in a stable pod setting. Due to the size restrictions these activities will be very limited in space. Roughly 40 athletes in Football and roughly 30 athletes for Girls Basketball. We will have an Activity Bus for pick up and drop off - a route guide will be sent to participants. If you have a student in the AM cohort they would need to leave school and come back via an activity bus. We currently do not have the capacity for athletes to stay at school until practice starts. Students in the promise program should attend their 6th period class before leaving for practice. Practice times are a general guideline - if a student is late please do not worry.
All season 4 sports may have a lottery drawing for participants. All grades (including Promise Program students) are welcome to participate in all Pioneer sports starting this year (except Football - grades 7-8 per WIAA guidelines).
Volleyball will be held in the large gym while Fastpitch and Baseball will practice outdoors on the baseball and fastpitch fields. Again, we will require strict adherence to Covid Protocols that have been set forth by the DOH and WIAA - See WIAA Return-To-Play guidelines link below for more information. All participants are required to wear masks.
Currently, we are not having inter-league competitions or tournaments. No spectators are allowed at practices at this time.
All sports require a physical to be on file at the school to participate. Medical WIAA Physical Forms can be found here - Physicals require a certified medical practitioner examination to be valid. Other forms from your medical practitioner are accepted as long are approved and signed. If your child's current sports physical is not turned in to the Athletics Secretary or uploaded to InTouch, your child may not participate in sports.
Please read the WIAA guidelines for more in-depth descriptions of protocols and requirements.
