Hola! This is my seventh year teaching at Steilacoom High School.  I previously taught Spanish 1- Spanish 4 at Graham-Kapowsin High School.  Before teaching at Graham-Kapowsin HS, I taught Spanish 1-IV, and AP Spanish at Orting High School.  I am very excited about teaching at Steilacoom High School. It is such a great educational community. Students seem eager to learn and are always respectful.

A little bit on my background - I was born in Providence, Rhode Island.  So, I am far away from my home.  I was raised in a large Italian family where everyone is important and everyone takes care of one another.  Because of this, I always want my students to feel welcomed in class and have a sense of community.

I received my undergraduate degree in Spanish and Russian from Providence College and my Master’s degree in Instructional Systems Development in Second Language Acquisition from the University of Maryland.   I also lived in Mexico City and studied at the Iberoamericana Universidad.  Making Spanish come alive in the classroom is my passion.  I love when students feel that they can communicate successfully.

In my free time, I love to travel and study different Spanish dialects.  I’ve been to Spain and Costa Rica.  I also love to dance.  About two evenings a week, I go to Zumba and Mixxedfit classes.  I also like to incorporate movement into my classes to help students learn kinesthetically.  I am looking forward to a great year at Steilacoom High School.
