In honor of Disability History and Awareness Month, join Steilacoom Historical School District in recognizing and celebrating the contributions and history of people with disabilities.
Disability History Month is observed annually in October to increase awareness, respect, and acceptance for people with disabilities, and to bring a greater sense of pride to people with disabilities.
The Washington State Legislature established the observance as a civic holiday in 2008 to promote the appreciation and inclusion of people with disabilities.
