Paraeducator Certification Program

The Washington State Legislature enacted a new law that will require all paraeducators to earn a General Certificate. The first step in this process toward Paraeducator certification is to complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS), which requires 28 hours of training before completing the other required hours toward the full certificate.

Our district's priority is to support our paraeducators through this new requirement by providing information and opportunities for earning the required training hours.

The district has provided a series of five courses to support meeting 16 of the 28.

The remaining 12 hours can be completed on-line with the "What We Do Matters" course.

Please look for future announcements and also check back on this page for updated information.

All inquiries regarding pay and progress toward Certification Achievement should be directed to the district's Human Resources Department.
