Workplace Safety Committee

The District is committed to providing a safe work environment for all employees. The safety committee includes employee-elected and employer-selected members. This committee will cover these topics:

1. Review safety and health inspection reports to help correct safety hazards.

2. Evaluate the accident investigations conducted since the last meeting to determine if the cause(s) of the unsafe situation was identified and corrected.

3. Evaluate workplace accident and illness prevention program discuss recommendations for improvement if needed.

Accident Reporting

What to do if you have a workplace accident, injury, or illness?

  1. Report the incident to  your supervisor and call the Nurse Triage Helpline at 833-WCT-NURS (833-928-6877)
  2. In the event of a life-threatening injury, call 911
  3. If you indicated you have sought, or intend to seek medical care, a claim for workers' compensation benefits will be established for you. You will hear from PSWCT within 3 business days.

Return to Work Program (Accident/Injury)

The District is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and strives for the prevention of work related injuries. Should a work injury occur, the District has developed a Work Injury Process to assist employees with prompt, quality medical treatment and a safe and successful return to work.

You may opt to choose your own medical provider for initial treatment of your workplace injury. Ongoing treatment must be from an approved Labor & Industries (L&I) occupational medical provider. Click here for the Department of Labor and Industries Activity Prescription Form.

Below is list of approved medical providers L&I providers in the Lakewood/Tacoma/Olympia area. These providers are designated as Centers for Occupational Health and Education (COHE) which provide integrated and managed best practices care.
