Welcome

Dear SHSD Staff,

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year!  I hope you were able to enjoy the time off and had a memorable summer filled with joy. 

During the summer, our team has been busy preparing for a year of exciting learning and we are grateful for your dedication in making sure our students have a successful and happy start to their school year.  Our administrative team recently completed “learning walks” professional development (based on the work of Richard Elmore) to grow our instructional leadership capacity.  We are looking forward to purposeful classroom visits as a team this year.

We are excited to welcome 18 new staff members to our district, and I am confident our new team members will quickly realize what a special place SHSD is.  Our Professional Learning days (August 26-28) will give us time to reconnect and ready our schools for a fantastic year. 

I am incredibly proud of our school district and I think the published article entitled, “Inspiring Minds and Hearts”, perfectly sums up our work as a system.  The article highlights the importance of our commitment to the whole child, and captures the excitement we share in beginning another amazing school year.  Thank you for being a part of our team!
